Admissions Requirements

Candidates for Master of Arts degree programs must hold a bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education. Bachelor’s degree equivalents from recognized foreign universities are accepted. Those without degrees are welcome to participate as auditors, in a non credit-bearing track.

Candidates for certificate programs may apply without a bachelor's degree but will not be eligible to receive graduate credit for coursework completed.

Admission to the Coaching With Spirit Coach Training program requires a completed Application form, the application fee of $60 only.

Admission to the Holistic Nurse Education program requires a completed Application form and the application fee of $60 only.

Admission for the Certificate in Consciousness, Transformation and Mindfulness requires a completed Application form, the application fee of $60, immunization proof and transcript only.

Application Procedures

To begin the admissions process to a Master of Arts degree or Graduate Certificate program at The Graduate Institute, please complete either the online application on this site or mail the hard copy directly to:

In addition, the following items must be submitted to our Admissions Office:

  • Application Fee of $60 payable to The Graduate Institute
    Non-refundable; can also be paid online upon submission of online application

  • Copy of Applicant's Current Resume

  • Two Letters of Recommendation
    Letters should attest to the applicant’s academic and intellectual abilities and/or achievements

  • Official Transcripts from Previously Attended Colleges and Universities
    Transcripts must be sent to The Institute directly from previously attended institutions electronically to  or by mail in a sealed envelope to:

​Our campus is not open due to COVID, and we strongly encourage you to send transcripts electronically to avoid delays.

  • Statement of Intent, Vision and Expectations
    Applicants are required to submit a two-page essay expressing their intent for enrolling in, vision of participating in, and expectations of personal development through the graduate program.

  • Proof of Immunization
    Proof of Measles vaccinations (one administered on or after January 1, 1969 and one administered on or after January 1, 1980) and Rubella vaccinations are required by law from all applicants born after December 31, 1956, and proof of Varicella vaccination is required by law for all applicants born after December 31, 1979.

  • Interview

The interview is optional, and if held can be completed in person or by phone.

Applicants will be notified as soon as possible concerning any decision regarding their application.
