Salem University operates learn.edu, a career-exploration and program-matching platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our site, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.

By using learn.edu, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Survey responses – your answers to the Skills, Interests, Lifestyle, and Values surveys used to generate your career and program matches
  • Email address – collected if you choose to save your progress and receive a return link, and optionally used to send you information about academic programs

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected through standard web analytics tools
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies used to maintain your session and improve site performance

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate personalized career and program matches based on your survey responses
  • Send you a return link to resume your career match session (if you provide your email)
  • Send you information about academic programs at Salem University that may be relevant to your career goals (you may opt out at any time)
  • Improve the platform and understand how users engage with the experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How Your Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers – Salem University uses VantagePoint, a third-party technology partner, and DDM, a third-party marketing partner, to operate the learn.edu platform. VantagePoint and DDM process your survey responses and email address on our behalf to deliver the career-matching experience. VantagePoint and DDM are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes or disclosing it to third parties.
  • Legal compliance – we may disclose information when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
  • Business transfers – in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction

4. Email Communications

If you provide your email address, we will send you a link to return to your career match session. We may also send you information about Salem University programs that align with your career interests, and by providing your email address, you affirmatively consent to receiving that information. Every marketing email we send will include an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time and will continue to receive only transactional messages (such as your return link) if applicable.

5. Transfer of Data and Data Retention

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to – and maintained on – computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to United States and process it there.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

Salem University will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

We retain your survey responses and email address for as long as necessary to provide the service and for a reasonable period thereafter. You may request deletion of your information at any time by contacting us at the address below.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time

7. California Residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected about you, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a CCPA request, contact us at the address above.

8. Children's Privacy

learn.edu is intended for use by individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information through this site, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform, remember your session, and analyze site usage. You may adjust cookie settings through your browser, though doing so may affect some site functionality.

10. Changes to This Policy
